It’s all about you

You are finally engaged, celebrated your engagement and now the wedding planning begins. There is so much to do and you are thinking where do I start. This is where you begin and I can help dissolve some of your stress.

Just like some popular wedding venue’s being booked out years in advance, so too are are some of us Celebrants, so start to make your inquiries at time as your venue to avoid disappointment, and you are well on your way.

Lets get to know each other

Once you make contact I will connect with you via the phone, or email to organise about an hour your time, which can be face-to-face for a coffee or wine, or over a video call, especially for clients that are interstate.

Once we agree we are the right fit for each other, I will then send you all the paperwork, instructions to make your marriage legal and we get chatting.

What is ‘your love story’?

During our first catch up I will get to really know you as a couple, how you met and fell in love and as much or as little about ‘your love story’. We will laugh together as you reminisce and likely feel all warm and fuzzy again, as we take this journey down memory lane.

I then go away and get to writing your draft ceremony. We connect again, review the draft ceremony, laugh some more and make any tweaks required.

During this stage I will help encourage you to tap into your creative side as we dream up ways to include as many family and friends in your ceremony, to choose music that suits your personality (and not just the top 10 wedding songs of all time) and anything else quirky we can possibly include to personalise your ceremony and wedding day, that is authentic to the two of you.

Shall we do a rehearsal?

Well that’s up to you, but I strongly encourage some type of rehearsal, as I guarantee you will forget to push each others wedding rings on during the ceremony even after we practice this. Rehearsals can be in person if possible or via a video call, both are just as effective.

we will also finalise anything outstanding and make any last minute changes or tweaks to the ceremony and fill in any blanks, if required.

On your Wedding day

I will arrive about 45 minutes before your scheduled Ceremony to set up and test any PA equipment. I can also help with with any last minute set up touches (I once helped sweep the aisle minutes before guests started arriving).

One of my favorite jobs on your wedding day is checking in and having a laugh with the Groom or your Partner and their wedding party to help calm any nerves, and check the wedding rings have made it to the wedding.

Once your guests begin to arrive, I will welcome and socialise with them until we have the queue the wedding is about to commence. I cover off the house-keeping, and then we begin the ceremony.

There is some legal paperwork that you and your two witnesses will be required to sign on your wedding day (during or after your ceremony) including your marriage certificate, once its all signed and witnessed, I then pronounce you ‘Mr & Mrs’, ‘Mr & Mr’ or ‘Mrs and Mrs’

After your Wedding

I will leave with you your ‘ceremonial marriage certificate’ that you signed on your wedding day. This is what you will need to change your name if you choose to do so, as this is not compulsory.

As your Celebrant I am responsible to lodge all your legal paperwork to the Births Deaths and Marriages in the state that you have just married in. Once this is processed I will make contact with you to hear all about your honeymoon and let you know all the steps you need to change your surname.

Then you sail off into the sunset and live ‘happily ever after’
